The Arts as the last frontier of Artificial Intelligence
Daniel Goleman's landmark book Emotional Intelligence described the social dimension of the phenomenon, which is more significant than measurable IQ in almost any social environment, including work, politics, and almost any other social context. As a musician who is also interested in artificial intelligence and the impending singularity described so well by Ray Kurzweil, James Martin and others, I have become increasingly aware that the concept of emotional intelligence has importance in another dimension as well; the realm of aesthetics and our relationship as human beings with rapidly-evolving machine intelligence.
